■ BRIDGWATER ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY Web page of the local astronomy club that meets at Bridgwater college on the second Wednesday of the month from September to May. It also holds an out of town Observation evening on the Friday following each monthly meeting. Meetings are informal and low key, ideal for the newcomer to this fascinating hobby. The Society has a 6” reflecting telescope that can be loaned to new members who wish to ‘try before they buy’. If you are looking to learn or need advice then this is the place to start from.

As of Dec 2009 over 325 places had been recorded so it is a major resource for anyone doing Somerset research and includes many buildings demolished since the pics were taken.
