Arriving:

Participants should arrive at the school around 6-45pm to allow time to park & get set up ready for 7pm start.

If the weather is not suitable for viewing please bring your telescopes along anyway, & join in the indoor display where you can give demonstrations on how to use your telescope.

Sun sets at approx 18-15pm.

 

Principle objects to be viewed

 

From 7pm:  Moon, Mars at Alt +65deg, Orion Neb, Pleiades.

                                                  

 

From  8pm:  Saturn.+Titan (4ring widths west)at Alt +35deg

 

Directions

Turn off Western Way into Chilton St, which becomes Chilton Road. Take the first turning into the school, not the turning for the Sports centre. As soon as you turn in off the road turn left again, parking in the car park at the left front of the school. Facing the school, look for an entrance to the school area around the left hand side of the main building. This will give access to the playing field at the rear of the school, and also the rooms that will be used in the south block of buildings to the left of the main building. The red square is the location where we will set up our telescopes. See satellite view below for directions….
